The Remington 1100 has been an extremely popular autoloading hunting and trap shotgun since its introduction in 1963. It has been available in many guises over the years including tactical black. I'm a new member that just acquired a Remington 1100 Trap T from my uncle. It is a beautiful gun that was hardly used. He has a ton of shotguns, and I don't remember him ever shooting it. I thought it was a regular 1100 semi-auto, that my friends say is a great gun for a beginner like me. Then I noticed it says Trap T on the side.

Using barrel codes (such as those listed above) to date the manufacture are reliable on Remington rifles, as the company rarely changed barrels on a customer’s rifle.
Using these barrel codes to date a shotgun is somewhat unreliable, as shotgun barrels are often interchanged at random. One needs to be sure that the barrel is original to the gun before trusting the Barrel Code listing, above.
